Adult Classes

We have changed our schedule for the Spring and all classes are listed below.   

All Yoga classes will be both virtual and in-person.  Please register in advance!  

Only these classes will run in the spring:


SUNDAY
GENTLE AWAKENING YOGA (starts 1/8/23)

10-11:15 am with Linda Kish

This gentle awakening class includes yoga basics and seasonal poses. You will come away with knowledge of how we connect yogi breath with gentle yoga postures. We will be using belts and blocks to assist with correct alignment of the poses. For all levels. 
 

RESTORATIVE YOGA WORKSHOP- CHAKRA TUNE UP

Discover benefits of slowing down to encourage mental and muscular relaxation.  We will focus on our 7 “wheels” of energy with restorative yoga postures and breath awareness.  Bring a bolster or firm pillow, eye bag optional and a blanket or large towel.  Discussion about each chakra will be included.  Bring a journal, if you like, to take notes or make observations.  

Celebrating Spring $35, April 23, 2-4pm

Preparing For Summer Solstice $35, June 11, 2-4pm

MONDAY – ADULT BASIC BALLET – 7:30-8:30pm (starts 1/9/23)
This is a beginner/intermediate ballet class that works with each students’ abilities and levels. Classic barre, center floor and travelling exercises make this class a great workout while gaining grace, stretch, balance and muscle tone. Must wear ballet shoes and fitted clothes like leotard and tights or yoga pants.  A great class for those that danced in their youth!
 
TUESDAY – GENTLE YOGA TO PROMOTE GOOD SLEEP (starts 1/10/23)
6:15-7:15 pm with Linda Kish

This Gentle Yoga Class combines basic yoga postures with meditative breathwork, yin postures, restorative postures and reiki.  You will experience a sense of calm, grounding and relaxation.  No previous yoga experience necessary.  

WEDNESDAY
YOGA FOR BONE HEALTH (starts 1/11/23)
6:00-7:15 pm with Linda Kish              
 
In this class you will learn the 12 yoga postures that support bone health. We will follow the sequence that researchers at Columbia, NYU, Rockefeller University and Brigham & Women’s University used for their 10-year-long study. The study results proved that this yoga practice supports bone health. Previous yoga experience is helpful but not required.
 
WEDNESDAY
INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED BELLYDANCE (starts TBA monthly)
7:30-9:00 PM with Akili (Zoe Brown)
 
This ancient dance is performed in countries bordering the Mediterranean from Northern Africa to Turkey. Students will learn basic hip and arm movements, traveling steps and a short choreography. Belly dancing is a great way to have fun while toning the abdominal muscles and arms. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a scarf to tie around your hips.  Bring soft slippers or work in bare feet.
 

Purchase a class card and login info will be sent.

5  unit class card = $75                                                                                               

10 unit class card = $120

Individual Classes = $18 (Feel free to drop in!)

A transaction fee is applied to all online purchases.  Cash or check is preferred with no fees.

Mondays                                                                             

Adult Basic Ballet – 730-8:30pm

Adult Tap* with Soleil Dancy-Taliaferro 7-8 pm

Tap is a great cardio workout while learning basic rhythm and simple tap steps. Wear comfortable clothing and tap shoes which are also available to borrow.

Tuesdays

Gentle Yoga to Promote Good Sleep with Linda Kish 5:00-6:15 pm 

We will cover yoga basics with an emphasis on connecting breath and movement, alignment and modifications as appropriate. No prior yoga experience is necessary. Students will come away with knowledge of the basic/classic postures of yoga and understanding of the importance of the breath and some of the benefits of each pose.

Gentle Stretch, Core and Balance with Kim* 6-7 pm 

This class will combine Yoga, Pilates & Ballet Stretches to help the body achieve better mobility, muscle tone and balance. 

Wednesdays

ZUMBA (R)* with Zoe Brown 7:10-8:10 pm

This class is an energetic blend of Middle Eastern and Latin movements that burn and tone while having fun. Come get your workout on with Zoe and feel empowered with these exotic movements!   Please dress comfortably and bring non-marking, indoor sneakers.

Thursdays

Classical Pilates Mat* with Jeannine Klaassen* 6-7 pm

In this class, you will engage in a system of controlled exercises that condition the total body. The blend of strength and flexibility training improves posture, reduces stress and creates long, lean muscles without bulking up. Pilates takes a balanced approach so that no muscle group is overworked and the body moves as an efficient, holistic system in sport and daily activity.

Beginning Bellydance with Aneeta* 7:15-8:15 pm  Intermediate/Advanced Bellydance* 8:15-9:15

Sundays

Gentle Awakening with Linda Kish 10-11:15 am

Learn about the 7 wheels of energy throughout the body, their colors, sounds and how we can keep them open with breathwork and yoga postures.  All you need is a blanket and a yoga mat. 

FEES FOR CLASSES:
Payment for non-performance classes may be made using a Class Card, which is available for purchase in the office or online.
The Class Card will be punched as you attend each class.  You may vary which classes you attend using your Class Card.
If you prefer to pay drop-in for non-performance classes, $18 per class.

5  unit class card = $75                                                                                          

10 unit class card = $120

As you arrive at class, drop your Class Card into the basket on the step, and it will be punched and returned to you.

Free child care is available during non-performance classes, if requested in advance.
All Pilates, Yoga and Zumba teachers are certified.

CLASS ATTIRE:

  • Any color dancewear or workout clothes
  • Ballet shoes, sneakers, tap shoes, as appropriate for class.  No street shoes please!
